Perunapolku
A potato path
Today I was proud to be involved in laying some of the first 'potatoes' on the concrete surface, together with Celeste, Deb, River and Denis.

How is this possible? Tuesday to Saturday, five days and not a single comment. Perhaps everyone is in mourning for Andante. Or perhaps, like me, they quite like the potato path (VERY cute, I think the gnomes would approve) but don't really have anything much to say about it. Hmmm.Howzat? You've flabbergasted me!

Angharad, Hi. I can explain some of the "silence". Some of us have been flat out, laying more potatoes. And Robertson has been consumed with the prospect of having a gaol built here, and the locals have been busy organising and attending protest meetings etc. Perhaps too busy to read blogs. But why the Finns have gone silent I cannot say. Pehaps they are stunned by the beauty of our ceramic potatoes. Or wondering if there are going to be ceramic "French Fries with that", and little ceramic golden arches too?

Denis, it looks great. We came back from NZ yesterday evening, went for a little walk and checked out the potato path.My cucumber problem is back. I pickled everything on Tuesday before going away, but this morning I went out to find a dozen more. No more room in the fridge for pickles. Would you like three kilos of cucumbers by any chance?Angharad, maybe my Finnish readers thought you were referring to them when you mentioned the gnomes.

Hi Anni.Cucumbers? I will have to learn to pickle them, but why not? I have some large pickle jars which I can use until I need them - as vases - next Peony season.Welcome back, by the way. We need a voice of sanity here, this week more so than ever. Failing that, someone to share some whisky with, perhaps? It isn't really G & T weather.
