Spooked by a photo
Käväisin Pinserin linkkaamana mielenkiintoisella sivulla, jossa omasta tai naapurin kasvokuvasta muokataan erilaisia versioita - nuorempia, vanhempia, sarjakuvahahmoja ja apinamiehiä/naisia, muutamia mainitakseni. Vaaleatukkaisesta ei näemmä saa vakuuttavan näköistä afrokaribialaista (mikähän lienee suomalainen poliittisesti korrekti termi). Sen sijaan hätkähdin aika lailla maskuliiniseksi muutettua omakuvaani (yllä keskimmäisenä). Isähän se siinä. Ks. kuva teini-ikäisestä isästä alempana. Vasemmalla ylhäällä vauvakuva, muka, oikealla japanilainen sarjakuvaversio.
Sivusto muuten takkuili vähän, ja tallensin kuvat lopulta ruutuprintteinä.

Yesterday I entertained myself by visiting the face transformer website. The idea is to take a standard passport photograph and see what the transformer makes out of it. Some of the versions did not work very well, others worked better. Spooky it got only when I tried to turn myself into a man (see the photo above, in the middle) - it looks a bit too much like my Dad as a young person. In the black-and-white photo he is about 16 years old.
The other versions above are a baby photo (left, not very convincing) and a Japanese manga cartoon (right).

Anni, this was a brave effort - but there is a fair bit of accuracy if you can uncover the family likeness. Don't think I would want to know what could be done with my dial.

Spooky is correct. My favourite is definitely the one of you in your Dad's suit and tie. But scary, I can acknowledge.
The doll-like characters of the first image is nice.
Good fun, by the looks of it.

Minulla ei ole ainuttakaan paperikuvaa vanhemmistani, eikä äidistänikään kuin muutama digikuva. Myöskään veljistäni minulla ei ole juurikaan kuvia.
Kaikkein Rakastetuimmasta Ruhtinaasta sitten on kuvia vaikka kuinka paljon, ja hänen äidistään yksi, tallessa pojan lapsia varten, jos niitä joskus kiinnostaa. Poikani ei ole valokuvaihmisiä, vaan piirtäjä. Hänellä ei taida edes itsellään olla kameraa.
Äitini vanhemmista on kaksi kuvaa.

Oh, dear. You can help me write my monograph on How To Procrastinate In Ten Easy Steps (After A Cup of Tea).
I went and had a look at the site; it's rather scary to see oneself as (a) a man (who really needed a haircut) or (b) one's own grandma... I much prefer the artistic versions. What did you look like as a Botticelli? When they changed the facial structure my glasses melted into my face! Mucha worked much better.
