Skottilainen myslipatukka
On energy bars and foreign ministers

For those who missed Donald's Scottish energy bar recipe in yesterday's comments, go and check it out. I suddenly see Scotland's troubled history in quite a different light...

Another little link tip for those who don't mind (all) politicians: The Finnish foreign minister Erkki Tuomioja is keeping a web diary in English during the 6-month Finnish presidency of the European Union. The first entry is about the situation in Gaza. (I tried to imagine what Alexander Downer's web diary might look like but had to stop when I was hit by an inexplicable attack of nausea.)

Hi Anni

The Finnish Foreign Minister is obviously taking the role seriously. Not a familiar position for you Australian readership.

"The Middle East will be one of the European Union’s most difficult challenges during the Finnish Presidency, too, and we cannot back away from it."

Alex Downer would just need to hear what the Americans are doing about this issue, and support them.

Do we have any Ministers who can speak languages other than English, I wonder?
