The award winning Finnish schoolgirls & boys
spill the beans
This entry is mostly for those Australian and UK acquaintances who have in the past been commenting on the impressive track record of the Finnish school system in various international surveys. Literacy, numeracy, science. . . whichever the subject, Finland and Singapore come first.
The embedded video lets the pupils of the Poikkilaakso elementary school (in Helsinki) tell you what they really think of their world. The song and the performance belong to a newly-established genre of music for complaints choirs. For the original, adult version of the same, check out this link.
Check out the related links in YouTube and you'll find that the idea has caught on at least in Hamburg and Birmingham.

All this complaining begun as an art project started by the Finnish-German artist couple Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen (see http://www.ykon.org/kochta-kalleinen/complaintschoir.html)
Mä olen siellä Helsingin aikuisten valituskuoron vasemmassa yläkulmassa :)

That's brilliant! - not to mention comprehensive. I think I like the Helsinki choir the best, though... especially the masterful use of ring tones.
